Wilmington, NY (May 14, 2024) - The Whiteface Region of Upstate New York is gearing up to host a number of race events. The Whiteface Mountain Uphill Bike and Foot races, the Wilmington Whiteface Mountain Bike Race, and the Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run all take place during the month of June.

The class of 2024 is comprised of jockey Joel Rosario and racehorses Gun Runner (KY) and Justify (KY) in the contemporary category; jockey Abe Hawkins and racehorses Aristides (KY) and Lecomte (KY) have been selected by the Pre-1900 Historic Review Committee; and Harry F. Guggenheim, Clement L. Hirsch, and Joe Hirsch were chosen by the Pillars of the Turf Committee. Rosario, Gun Runner, and Justify were all elected in their first year of eligibility.

National Museum of Racing and Hall of FameSaratoga Springs, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is partnering with seven Saratoga County farms for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours. The Museum’s farm tour series kicks off Saturday, April 27, at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. There will be a total of eight tours — including a special visit to Old Tavern Farm during the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival — with the series concluding in October.

The mobile, interactive trail – which can be accessed on the Oneida County Tourism website – features over 100 businesses throughout the city of Utica. Anyone can sign up on the OCT website and follow the prompts to enter their phone number and email address. The trail is a free, mobile-optimized web application.

National Museum of Racing and Hall of FameSaratoga Springs, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will commemorate the birthday of 1973 Triple Crown winner and Hall of Fame member Secretariat with a variety of children’s activities and a special showing of the Disney film Secretariat on Saturday, March 30.  The celebration will coincide with the final day of the Museum’s exhibition A Tremendous Machine: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Secretariat’s Triple Crown.
