Ariel QuartetCooperstown, NY (May 1, 2024) - The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival is excited to inaugurate its 26th season with a special Mother's Day program featuring the acclaimed Ariel Quartet. The concert will take place on Sunday, May 12th at 4pm at Christ Episcopal Church in Cooperstown, NY. Renowned for their passionate performances and remarkable artistry, the Ariel Quartet will surely captivate the Cooperstown audience with a program featuring Ravel's evocative String Quartet and Schumann's masterful String Quartet No. 3. Attendees will also indulge in classic French madeleine cookies, adding sweetness to the occasion.

146 Volunteers ReenactorsScheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm

Utica, N.Y. -- May 2024 marks the 160th anniversary of the Battle of the Wilderness. The casualties were high with almost half of the enlisted men and officers becoming casualties. The 146th New York Volunteers from Oneida County had several soldiers among the injured and captured. This program by Michael Fisher will share the personal stories of these men and emphasize the terrible consequences of this deadly Civil War battle.

Sip and Paint May 2023Scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024, 1:00 – 3:00  pm

Utica, N.Y. - Oneida County History Center is bringing back its popular sip & paint for Mother’s Day weekend. Participants will paint a landscape featuring the picturesque and historic Verona Beach lighthouse from Oneida Lake. Tickets are $45 for non-members and $35 for History Center members and include all art materials, one beverage ticket, and light snacks.

IIHF+Poster+DesignOneida County, NY - Oneida County Tourism (OCT), the official tourism promotion agency for Oneida County, NY, has announced the launch of the brand-new Discover Utica Trail, a digital trail which highlights local businesses in Utica with a focus on restaurants, coffee shops, nightlife, and attractions.

The mobile, interactive trail – which can be accessed on the Oneida County Tourism website – features over 100 businesses throughout the city of Utica. Anyone can sign up on the OCT website and follow the prompts to enter their phone number and email address. The trail is a free, mobile-optimized web application.

Celebrated stained-glass artist David WilsonNorwich, N.Y. – The Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) launches the 2024 museum season with three exhibit openings from 4:30-6 p.m. on March 20. In the Community Gallery, “Kaleidoscopic Visions: The Architectural Glass Art of David Wilson” is a career retrospective of a celebrated stained-glass artist whose work emphasizes the importance of visual harmony in the built environment. The afternoon also marks the return of the “Towns of Chenango County” display in the Hallway Lobby, and a refresh of the “Hometown Health” exhibit in the Commerce Gallery.
