We Are NYExpansion Would Extend Fare-Free Q70 Service to be Year-Round 

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that she is directing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to extend the Q70 LaGuardia link bus service fee waiver from selected holiday weeks to the full year. The LaGuardia Link connects subway customers from the 74 Street-Broadway/Jackson Heights Roosevelt Avenue subway station with the airport in just 10 minutes. It also connects Long Island Rail Road customers from Woodside Station, at 61st Street and Roosevelt Avenue, where Q70 bus service begins.

Mount Morris Dam and Recreation AreaBuffalo, N.Y. -- The William B. Hoyt II Visitor Center at the Mount Morris Dam and Recreation Area opens to the public Sunday, May 1 for its 2022 visitor season. This year marks the return of inside-the-dam tours after a two-year hiatus, the first full season of online tour reservations, and 70 years since construction of the dam was completed.

Located on the Genesee River next to Letchworth State Park, the dam provides flood protection to downstream communities, including the City of Rochester, as well as a place to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation in its day-use park.

Always interested in the complex relationship between design and the natural world, Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin of the design duo Formafantasma present a selection of works in dialogue with Manitoga - the house, studio, and surrounding landscape of the renowned American designer Russel Wright (1904-1976). An iconic example of modernist architecture in the idyllic Hudson Valley region, "Dragon Rock" - Wright’s home and studio - is made of stone, wood and glass, and was conceived in dialogue with the landscape in which it was constructed.

New Trail Provides Birding Opportunities for All New Yorkers, Regardless of Age, Ability, Identity, or Background

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos today announced the grand opening of the Hudson Valley segment of the New York State Birding Trail to highlight the State’s world-class and wide-ranging birding opportunities. The Hudson Valley segment includes 39 locations on public lands throughout six counties, providing a variety of quality birding experiences for New Yorkers and visitors to enjoy. The announcement was made as part of DEC’s annual Earth Week celebration and in conjunction with the annual New York State Tourism Industry Association conference in Westchester.
