New York’s
family-friendly ski mountains make it easy to enjoy the great outdoors together. From the Catskills, just north of New York City, to the western Chautauqua-Allegheny region, you’ll find plenty of trails for beginner and intermediate
skiers and
snowboarders. Many ski mountains extend the fun with
cross-country trails, sleighrides, snowtubing parks and
kid-friendly events. Slopeside accommodations range from cozy inns to all-inclusive resorts. Check out

There’s lots of fun indoors, too! Make a splash in the giant
indoor waterpark at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge, near Lake George. Explore outer space in the
planetarium at Troy’s Children’s Museum of Science & Technology in the Capital-Saratoga region. Step into Sesame Street or walk through an indoor butterfly garden at the
Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester. The
Long Island Aquarium hosts themed family sleepovers, like “Butterflies and Bugs” in February and “Penguins & Pajamas” in March.
