Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, Saranac Lake
“Under The Sea” is the theme, February 1-10, for a giant community festival with sporting events, dances, performances, parades and two sets of spectacular fireworks above the world-famous Ice Palace. 800-347-1992
Lake George Winter Carnival, Lake George

Fire on the Mountain Torchlight Parade, Queensbury
One of West Mountain’s favorite events, Fire on the Mountain kicks off with a torchlight parade and ends with an epic fireworks display. In between is live music, family skiing and mountains of fun.
Winter Carnival & Snowflake Derby, Old Forge
Come to compete or just for kicks, with ski races, fun and fireworks at McCauley Mountain Ski Center. Then come back on Feb. 22 for the Snowmaker’s Ball, and in March for the Kandahar Festival, Mohawk Valley Council Race and Pond Skimming.
Ice Fishing Derby, Schroon Lake
This annual derby lures ice fishers of every ability to Schroon Lake each March for two days of shacks and skimmers, tip-ups and pre-chilled catch of the day.
Snofest, Old Forge

Maple Days, Thurman
Maple farms open their sugarhouses for free tours and sweet tastings during Maple Days, March 9-10 throughout Thurman. Enjoy a hot pancake breakfast with real maple syrup. Just follow the road signs.
St Paddy’s Parade, Old Forge
You’ll wear the green proudly at the biggest Irish Parade in the Adirondacks. Cheer the Synchronized Snowplows and Precision Shopping Carts. Afterward, sample Irish stews and vote for your favorite.
