New York waterpark vacations make a fun-filled splash with the entire family!
Darien Lake, the Buffalo region’s largest waterpark, has a Waterfront Boardwalk celebrating the nostalgia of 1950s lakeside resorts, plus ‘Cuda Falls (four slides, some 100’ high), extreme tubing, Flotation Station (for a break from the high energy adrenalin of the pulse-pounding Tornado), kiddie park water attractions, wave pool and more! The Dragster-Drench is found at Martin's Fantasy Island waterpark.
Weather not nice? Palm Island Indoor Water Park has body slides, children’s play areas, underwater lighted pool/spa areas, waterfalls and more. Cascades Indoor Waterpark has Whitewater Wave Pool, four water slides, Big Bear Falls (and one for the little ones too), The Cove (with basketball hoops) and Northwoods Pool and Hot Springs. Both have overnight packages too!
Enchanted Forest Water Safari has 32 wet, wild and splash-tacular water rides! With The Curse of the Silverback (a double-tuber that drops 100’ into a 40’ water bowl before swirling down to the splash pool), Kid Wash (think car wash . . .), and Killermanjaro (speed slide that drops 280’ at 30+ mph before splashdown), this park is way cool. At Thunder Island, you’ll find eight water slides, two pools, and two Adventure Blackwater Tunnel Twisters – one plummets, twists and turns 32’ in total darkness; the other drops 60’ in a translucent tower. Plus, Thunder Rush Extreme Body Sliding and milder levels for the kiddies, like Body Twisters, slides and Mini River.
Water Slide World in Lake George has water fun in just the right sizes – from two kid-friendly areas to adrenaline rushing thrills. Featuring Tasmanian Twister Slides, Lava Flow Mountain Slides, Calypso Cascade Slides, Pirate Ship Cove, Aruba-Scuba-Duba Bay, and so much more! Splashwater Kingdom’s water slide complex (Alpine Freefalls) has the park’s first free-fall speed slide and the Northeast’s first of its kind mat racer. Extreme rides + friendly competition = lots of wet fun! Giant wave pool & Mega Wedgie too! Too hot or too cold out? Try the Great Escape Indoor Waterpark with over 38,000 sf of water play.
Roseland Waterpark is the Finger Lakes’ largest waterpark, and THE place to chill on Canandaigua Lake. It’s got a Splash Factory for the youngest kids, a Mammoth Raft for four people, tubing on Adventure River, and a 27,000 square foot ocean simulator, the Giant Wave Pool.
Zoom Flume in the Catskills has a new Riptide Cove Wave Pool, a 600’ chute, Black Vortex (cruise through water in total darkness), Grand Prix Splashway (race against your friends), and gentle floating down the Lazy River, all in a scenic natural setting. Head to Fishkill’s SplashDown Beach for rides, slides and thrills, with Humanga Half-Pipe (NY’s only zero-gravity half-pipe), fun in the sand at Rock Beach, Shipwreck Lagoon (kids only!), Monster Wave Pool, Pirate’s Revenge and lots more water fun.
Two acres and two minutes long. Three uphill peaks, three steep drops. Speeds up to 30 mph. Bootleggers Run is New York’s first-ever hydromagnetic water coaster: it’s fast, fun and you can climb aboard at Splish Splash.
Outside of a waterpark, there is much waterfun for all ages just north of Albany at Tubby Tubes Outdoor Fun Park, with a natural lazy river and other rides!
