The historic Adirondack Scenic Railroad
travels through the magnificent beauty of the six-million-acre Adirondack Park. Watch for birds and other wildlife outside your window. Scenic excursions depart from Old Forge, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid in the Adirondacks, as well as Utica's Union Station in Central New York.
Ride into history and beautiful scenery on the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad
in Central New York. Special train events throughout the year include the Easter Bunny Express, Blues Express, Halloween Ride, and Christmas Lights Train.
The Arcade & Attica scenic railways in Western New York features open-air cars and themed trips like wine tastings and holiday celebrations. Passengers board at the Medina Railroad Museum for leisurely excursions along the scenic Erie Canal in vintage 1947 Budd passenger coaches.
The new Saratoga & North Creek Railway’s Snow Train runs along the Hudson River from Saratoga Springs to the Adirondacks for skiing at Gore Mountain on weekends, January through March. The extended service to Saratoga enables a connection with Amtrak’s national rail network. During the holiday season the vintage Polar Express rolls out of Saratoga station bound for the “North Pole!” In Central New York, families can board the Adirondack Scenic Railroad Polar Express at Utica’s Union Station, weekends in November and December.
