Delight in the marvels of spring, warm summers or fall colors of the area. Vintage Gardens is located close to many trails so plan to stop for some rest and relaxation as part of your itinerary. Those who prefer t o bike or hike, the Erie Canal Heritage Trail , offers quite recreation of wildlife viewing along miles of colorful trails. Ride along the shores of the Finger Lakes wine county and you'll find deep sea blue water, replete with intoxicating aromas of grapes. Go North through Cherry Orchards in summer, or Apple County in fall harvest to the Great Lakes Seaway Trail. If seeing and smelling isn't enough, take a break and sample some of the area's great wines at some of the many wineries. There are plenty of options—the Seneca Lake Wine Trail alone offers three dozen wineries; there are 16 on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail; nine on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, and even more wineries on Canandaigua and Hemlock Lakes. Circumnavigating the various Finger Lakes can take anywhere from a day to a few days, depending on how often you stop to enjoy the vineyards. Whether traveling the Canal Trail or visiting the Seaway Trail or Finger Lakes. Plan to take a few days and stay at some of the many area Bed and Breakfasts along the way.
