I LOVE NEW YORK Short Film Competition
In late May, we will announce the first ever “I Love NY” Short Film Competition.
We will invite aspiring filmmakers to produce their own short film about why they love New York State.
The goal of the competition is to find innovative, creative, and personal interpretations of why contestants love New York. Short films should highlight distinct places, unique characters and hidden gems that make New York State special.
The competition is open to any person 14 years old or above. Submissions will be accepted between June 1 and July 15, 2008. All films must be shot in a “New York Minute” (:60 seconds) and filmed in New York State.
A panel of celebrity judges, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tina Fey and Doug Liman, will review the entries and select the winners, which will be announced in the fall.
Prizes will be awarded in the following nine categories: best overall film, best young filmmaker (18 and under), best student filmmaker (student at a NY college/university) and best regional films.
The best overall film will air on television. Other prizes include: professional HD video equipment, scholarships to professional film workshops, a mentorship with a major filmmaker, New York
weekend getaways and more.
For complete contest details and official rules, please check back at the end of May.
