AAA's of Hudson - Arts, Antiques & Activities
Less than two hours from New York City and
Boston, you can walk through Hudson’s five historic blocks, which feature more
than 65 antique shops. Here you will find premier antique and art dealers known
throughout the United States. You may even glimpse a replica of Henry Hudson’s
ship, the Half Moon, docked at the waterfront!
Visit the largest firefighting museum on the east coast and learn about one
of our nation’s most important and dangerous jobs. The museum’s 3000 pieces of
memorabilia date back to 1725.
You don’t know what you’ll find when you take a walk, or bicycle, through
"The Fields" in Ghent - but it won’t be corn! A truly unique display of over 80
internationally-acclaimed art sculptures are laid out on 90 acres of land!
Visit the “Valley Pond People” and view the “Dirt Ball,” but try not to sit on
the “Lawn Furniture” or step on a “Push Pin.” Self-guided tours are available
year-round and there is no admission charge.
Throughout the area you will find a great variety of attractions and events.
Enjoy a dinner and dance cruise on the Hudson Spirit or enjoy a quality
production at Stageworks or MacHaydn Theatre – you may think you are on
Broadway. Experience riding in an open cockpit plane at the Parker-O'Malley
Air Museum and view planes from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. The museum is open
the first Saturday of the month or by appointment. Take a lighthouse tour on
the second Saturday of the month, from July to October. Built in 1873, the
lighthouse still serves as a navigational aid guiding ships around the Middle
Ground Flats. View the region from a bird’s perspective on a balloon flight
over the Hudson (call 518/758-2721 for reservations).
Hiking, biking, horseback riding – skiing, shopping and golfing. With so
much to do, the Hudson Valley Region of New York State is a great destination
for your future getaways!
