Enjoy mountain-fresh air and a multitude of activities when you venture to the Catskill Region at any time of the year.

The hot and hazy days of summer offer opportunities too “cool” to pass up.  Take a raft or tube ride down Esopus Creek or a canoe trip on the Delaware River.  Celebrate at local festivals while enjoying great food and music or try a bicycle tour of the area.

Let a horse carry you through spectacular mountainous scenery.  There are also stock car races, go-kart tracks, mini-golf, driving ranges, paintball parks and amusement parks to keep your family busy.  Each autumn, fantastic foliage views can be seen aboard the Catskill Mountain Train Ride, a 12-mile round-trip tour through the heart of the beautiful Catskill Mountains.  The ride includes a stop at the Empire State Railway Museum.

Catskill hotels and resorts offer great all-in-one packages.  For one low price, your family can stay and play at Pinegrove Dude Ranch.  They’re not horsing around when it comes to making your visit memorable.  Capture the essence of real farm life by milking cows, feeding pigs and baby calves or simply relax and observe the operations of modern farming at Hull-O Farms.  The Emerson Inn provides an opportunity to vacation among the tall pines of the Catskills and enjoy the only four-star spa outside of Manhattan.  The Winter Clove Inn, a four-season resort, offers indoor and outdoor pools, golfing, cross country skiing, fishing and more.

Winter in the Catskills means snow and lots of it, but don’t worry, experts keep the roads plowed.  Get ready for skiing, snowboarding, tubing, ice skating, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.   A snow-lovers paradise is waiting for you to come out and play!   Windham, Hunter, Holiday and Belleayre mountains offer groomed trails, snowmaking and great times for beginners and experts alike.  For a drent downhill ride, try snowtubing!

As winter turns to spring, trees let their sap go, which means one of New York State’s sweetest products – maple syrup – is on the way!   From February to April, learn how maple syrup is made during a visit to the Oliverea Schoolhouse in Big Indian or Swenson’s Maple Syrup House in Shokan.  A variety of events await  you, so join in the fun at a St. Patrick’s Day parade or see your favorite breed win at the AKC Dog Show.  You are sure to have fun at the Spring Fling.  May’s "Horse Shows in the Sun" will warm you up!
